The spring semester ended on Thursday, May 28! Enjoy a well-deserved summer break!

 

Congratulations! Class of 2020

The Senior Honors and Awards Ceremony was held electronically via Webex on May 18. Congratulations to the Class of 2020 for earning over $287,000 in scholarships and awards. Thanks are extended to all our local organizations for providing scholarships and awards to support the Class of 2020 in their postsecondary pursuits after graduation. 

 

School Open to Return Chromebooks and Clean-out Lockers

The school is open this week, June 1 through 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for students to return all Chromebooks, textbooks, uniforms, music instruments, et.al., clean-out lockers or classrooms, and take home student personal items. Entry to the school will be limited to 10 or less people at one time. And, social distancing of 6 feet or more is required. A nose and mouth covering, for example,  mask, bandana, or scarf must be worn on the face to enter the school building. 

 

Summer Lunch Program Starts

DHS’ Summer Lunch Program is every other Thursday on June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 6, and August 20. The Summer Lunch Program for all school-aged children 18 and under will operate at the Gilpin County Justice Center. Click the link Summer Lunch for more information.

Board of Education Meeting Scheduled

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the GCSD Board of Education will host the Board Public Forum/Proposed 2020/2021 Budget Work Session on June 2, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. The June 2 regularly scheduled BOE meeting will immediately follow at 7 p.m. electronically via WebEx at this link GCSD BOE Public Forum/Proposed 2020/2021 Budget Work Session on June 2, 2020 at 6:30 pm and the BOE Meeting June 2, 2020 at 7 p.m.  Click on the meeting agenda.  

 

Electronic attendees may interact with the Board during the Proposed Budget Forum by using the Chat and Question and Answer function and may be unmuted to interact verbally with the Board to provide comments, questions, and input on the Proposed 20/21 Budget.
