GILPIN COUNTY SCHOOLS EARN PERFORMANCE ACCREDITATION RATINGS
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) released 2016 school accreditation ratings. Gilpin County Middle and High School earned a Performance rating and Gilpin Elementary School increased the accreditation rating from Improvement to Performance. Gilpin County RE-1 School District was designated by CDE with Accredited status for 2016.
“I am very proud of both schools accreditation accomplishments. Our district has committed teachers who have high expectations, dedication, and perseverance when working with students. Students are commended for their school work and earning top honors,” stated David MacKenzie, superintendent.
In the CDE four-tier school rating system, the elementary and secondary schools earned the top rating. The ratings from top to bottom are Performance, Improvement, Priority Improvement, and Turnaround. The five-tier ratings for districts, from top to bottom, are Accredited with Distinction, Accredited, Improvement, Priority Improvement, and Turnaround.
