Snowdodgers program at Gilpin County School District
Thank you to all the families who signed up their children for this year’s program. Remember your child must sign-up each week in the school hallway to let us know they are planning to attend that week’s Friday Ski Day.
Snowdodgers is a recreational ski and snowboard club open to all Gilpin County School District students in grades 4 – 12. Snowdodgers makes trips to Loveland Ski Area on Fridays during December through March, and possibly into April.
Snowdodgers members are expected to be able to ski or snowboard independently with minimal supervision on the mountain. Snowdodgers are expected to ski and board in small groups of students. We try to have two chaperones present on every trip, but they cannot be everywhere at once. Beginning skiers or snowboarders are required to take three lessons so that they can ski/board safely and independently.
In accordance with District policies, Snowdodgers must maintain passing grades in all their classes to be academically eligible for trips. (See “Academic Eligibility”)
Parents and younger siblings are also welcome to attend Snowdodgers trips. (See “Snow Sprites” and “Parents and Siblings”) We believe that skiing and snowboarding are true family sports!
