Vaccine-preventable Immunizations are an important part of your child/children's health care and Colorado law requires that children attending child care, preschool, and k-12 school be vaccinated to prevent vaccine preventable disease. Please see the Colorado State's Website for requirements for immunizations and necessary paperwork to be completed by your health care professional and provided to the school with your registration and throughout your child/children's education.
As of July 1, 2021, if you choose not to have your student vaccinated according to the current ACIP schedule for personal belief or religious reasons you must visit your students' doctor or visit the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to receive a Certificate of Non-medical Exemption. Once you have received the certificate from your students' doctor or after completing the online learning module, please submit a copy to the Health Office. You can email, fax, mail or send a copy with your student. Please note that the Non-medical Exemptions expire annually on June 1.
Gilpin County School District will be utilizing the statewide Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS) as our main electronic database for tracking student records and required annual state reporting. Usually, student health care providers have already entered information into the CIIS system unless parents have opted out in writing. If you do not want GCSD to include your child's immunization records in the database, you must notify Connie Oliver in the Health Office, email@example.com, in writing before August 31, 2023.
The Health Services department at the Gilpin County Schools is invested in providing your child/children with a safe and healthy environment for their education.
