Parent Teacher Association
The Parent Teacher Association at Gilpin County is an active group of parents dedicated to supporting and enhancing the educational experience of all students in the RE-1 School District and supporting the Teachers with their classroom needs. The PTA holds multiple events throughout the year to raise money to provide items for the classrooms, special events for students and breakfast for all student testing days.
Each year the PTA hosts events to help raise money, including:
- Halloween Festival
This lively community event includes a Trick-o-Treat Street, silent auction, food, and carnival games, and is typically held the Thursday evening before Halloween.
- Book Fairs
The Scholastic Book Fairs are held twice annually and offer families access to hundreds of books, activity sets, and toys.
- Holiday Gift Store
Each year during the week before the holiday break, the PTA offers a Holiday Gift Store where children can purchase inexpensive gifts for their family and friends. Parents simply send their children to school with a list of people their child should buy a gift for and the dollar amount to spend. Teachers and PTA volunteers will help the children spend their money wisely.
