Facility Services is dedicated to maintaining a clean, safe, and functional learning environment for all Preschool through grade 12 students and staff. The department oversees building maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, and facility improvements to ensure that classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces support effective teaching and learning. Regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and prompt repairs help maintain high standards of safety, accessibility, and efficiency. Sewer Interconnect Construction Project Request for Proposals
The Gilpin County School District RE-1 is re-issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the upcoming Sewer Pipe Interconnect Construction Project to optimize both design efficiency and fiscal responsibility. This updated RFP integrates a mandatory value engineering component that must be completed prior to final bid submission. This strategic phase allows qualified contractors to collaborate with project engineers to identify cost-saving alternatives, refine construction methodologies, and streamline the project timeline without compromising infrastructure integrity. By embedding value engineering early in the process, the School aims to maximize public utility resources, mitigate potential subsurface risks, and secure highly competitive, structurally sound bids for this critical infrastructure upgrade.
This project is the final phase of the sewer pipe interconnect project to connect the school sewer to Black Hawk Central City Sanitation District (BHCCSD). The construction area is on the campus adjacent to the on-site wastewater plant to the connection point to BHCCSD at Paradise Valley Road.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the Owner's office, 10595 Highway 119, Black Hawk, CO 80422, on October 1, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. local time. All interested general contractors are required to attend.
