Message from the Principal

Hello and welcome to Gilpin County Elementary School!

My name is Patrick Linnehan and I am the elementary principal. This is my second school year as principal and my eleventh year here at GCES. Prior to the principal position, I was the elementary technology teacher, mathematics interventionist, and 504 coordinator.

A little about myself, I am a Colorado native who was raised in the small mountain town of Bailey. I received my Bachelor's Degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and my Master's Degree at the University of Colorado Denver.

I have a wife Kendall, who teaches Lower Montessori at GCES, and a preschool son Finnegan, who attends the GCES Montessori preschool program.

I absolutely adore this mountain community and I am so appreciative to become the leader of the school. I also look forward to meeting new students and families!

Thank you for visiting this website and for being a part of our wonderful school community!
